A strong foundation, continuously improved.

The Montecito Fire Protection District has an important mission and a strong foundation. My approach is to continuously improve its service, steward its resources responsibly, and strengthen the people and infrastructure that protect our community.

Exceptional Service

Attract, develop, and retain the best, and equip them to succeed.

Montecito already benefits from an exceptional Fire District. Maintaining that standard means investing in the people who deliver it — attracting and retaining outstanding personnel, providing effective training and tools, supporting professional development, and continually improving preparedness, emergency response, risk mitigation, and community resilience.

Trust & Accountability

Lead openly, communicate clearly, and remain accountable to our community.

Strong public service depends on trust. That means making thoughtful decisions, communicating clearly, maintaining transparency around District operations and resources, and managing public funds responsibly. Good stewardship requires balancing today’s operational needs with long-term investments in personnel, facilities, equipment, and preparedness — while remaining accountable to the community the District serves.

Leading Safety

Set the highest standard in prevention, preparedness, and response.

The Fire District’s foremost responsibility is protecting the community. That requires anticipating evolving risks, strengthening prevention and preparedness, maintaining resilient infrastructure and effective resources, and ensuring the District is ready to respond when emergencies occur. It also means helping residents understand and prepare for the risks facing Montecito.
